Dr. Gupta-Louis is a clinical health psychologist committed to serving vulnerable communities affected by chronic illness. Most recently, she has developed a focus on cardiovascular disease. Her research explores social and cultural factors that shape heath behaviors (e.g., physical activity). An additional area of interest is the development of contextually-informed and community-driven health behavior interventions. She uses and develops methods to center and amplify the perspectives of vulnerable communities, including but not limited to immigrant and linguistically-diverse populations.

Dr. Gupta-Louis received her PhD in Health Psychology and Clinical Science from the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She completed her psychology internship at Rush University (Health Psychology Track). Her dissertation was funded by an F31 from the National Institute of Minority Health and Health Disparities, and her postdoctoral training at the Miriam Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Cardiovascular Behavioral Medicine was funded by a T32 from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. She is a licensed psychologist in the state of New York. 

Teaching interests include Multicultural Issues and Diversity, Personality Assessment, and Research Methods.

Research interests include social ecological theory, psychosocial adjustment to chronic illness, health behavior interventions, qualitative methods, and relationship science.
