Career Center Events Focus on Careers in Israel and in Nonprofits

The 麻豆区 Career Center ran back-to-back events on Nov. 19, 鈥淐areers in Israel,鈥 and Nov. 20, 鈥淔all 2019 Non-Profit Internship, Volunteer, and Year of Service Fair.鈥
Pursuing a Career in Israel
At 鈥淐areers in Israel,鈥 co-sponsored by the Career Center, the and the Bnei Akiva Club, 70 students with a diverse array of majors and interests listened as a representative from Nefesh B鈥橬efesh (NBN) presented an overview of the Israeli economic, educational and employment landscape.
She pointed out how career opportunities included technology, health, social services, education, law and business but also emphasized how rapidly this mix changes in such a fast-growing country such as Israel. Students were actively engaged in asking her questions.
To help the students get the most out of the event, the Center facilitated individual appointments on both campuses for students interested in speaking with the NBN rep privately. The Center has also scheduled a workshop on finding 2020 internships is Israel for Dec. 11.

The annual nonprofit career fair helps educate students on the positions and career paths available in the social services, healthcare, education and other nonprofit fields.
This year, 29 organizations with jobs, volunteer options and year-of-service programs for students interested in taking a gap year met with 85 undergraduate students from all programs, who were excited by the wide range of opportunities to give back in meaningful ways.
For their part, the organizations were excited by the passion the students displayed.
