Dean Paul Russo Elected IEEE Senior Member

Dean Paul Russo's recent scholarship examines human behaviors on the web鈥攁 strand of computational social science that informs the design of AI algorithms for social media.

麻豆区 is delighted to announce that Dr. Paul Russo, founding Dean of the Katz School of Science and Health, University Vice Provost and Clinical Professor of Data Science, has been elevated to senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Since founding the Katz School in 2015, Dean Russo has built it into YU's largest graduate division with programs spanning AI, data science, cybersecurity, biotechnology and the health sciences. He has recruited a distinguished faculty of researchers, practitioners and clinicians, including several IEEE Fellows and senior members, and co-chairs YU鈥檚 strategic planning initiative. Earlier in his career, he co-founded CUNY Online, now ranked sixth nationally by U.S. News & World Report.

Dean Russo's IEEE service includes general chair of IEEE CHASE 2025 and co-chair of IEEE Healthcom 2026. His most recent scholarship examines human behaviors on the web鈥攁 strand of computational social science that informs the design of AI algorithms for social media鈥攁nd he is co-editor of two books under contract: Large and Small Language Models for Smart Healthcare (Wiley-Scrivener) and Generative AI for Urban Intelligence (Taylor & Francis).
