If you live in South Florida, please mark your calendars for Oct. 22-26. Our office is extremely excited to be visiting Hollywood, Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton with Dr. Rebecca Cypess, Dean of 麻豆区 College and Stern College and YU's Vice Provost.

Rosh Chodesh Recharge for Cheshvan: Join us online on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m. to hear Israeli journalist and news reporter Sivan Rahav-Meir for our Rosh Chodesh Recharge series, which brings an array of invigorating women鈥檚 shiurim to alumnae worldwide. The event is free and on Zoom.
Claude Code for Financial Professionals: The Sy Syms M.S. in Finance is hosting two hands-on workshops on Oct. 15 and Oct. 22 that teach you to use Claude Code, the AI coding assistant, to do real finance work. No prior coding experience required.
The Ritz with a Shvitz: Step back into New York鈥檚 Jazz Age on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. when YU Libraries Present welcomes authors Jai Zion and Shulamith Berger, Curator of Special Collections at the YU Libraries, for a discussion of The Ritz with a Shvitz, the story of Max Bernstein鈥檚 Libby's Hotel, the Lower East Side鈥檚 first multimillion-dollar luxury hotel.
South Florida Visit: The alumni office is hitting the road in South Florida from Thursday, October 22 to Monday, October 26, 2026, with Dr. Rebecca Cypess, who will speak at the Young Israel of Deerfield Beach, the Young Israel of Hollywood and the Boca Raton Synagogue. Real Estate Day 2026: The third annual Real Estate Day will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 12 to 6:30 p.m. with special discounts for young alumni and army veterans (U.S. and I.D.F.). This chance to engage with titans of the industry will sell out. or .

Almost 50 young alumnae turned out to hear Rabbi Azi Fine for our Alumni Women鈥檚 Learning at the Shenk Shul on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Rabbi Fine is the Rosh Beit Midrash and Senior Campus Rabbi at Stern College for Women
2027 Reunions

Mazal Tov to Sharon '72S and William '72YC, '76R, '76F Altshul on the birth of their first great-grandchild, Oz Shalom HaKohen Derovan in Jerusalem.
Mazal tov to Susan (Brand) Kaufman '89S and Izzy Kaufman '88YC on the birth of their granddaughter, Eliana Sarah, born to Rebecca (Kaufman) Steinberg '22S, '24W and Yosef Steinberg of Ramat Beit Shemesh.
Mazal tov to Rabbi Dr. Bernhard '69JSS, '74R, '74F, '92A and Charlene Rosenberg of Edison, New Jersey, on the Bar Mitzvah of their grandson Asher Tzvi Merl of Brooklyn.
Dr. Harold Fruchter '74YC, '74JSS started a new weekly parsha podcast called 5 Minute Tosefes Bracha. He has hosted a weekly parsha podcast called Ten Minute Torah Temimah for three years. Both podcasts are available on YU Torah, Spotify and Apple.
Mazal tov to Aaron Katz '07YC, '10R on joining Honigman Law Israel last summer. The U.S. law firm has fifteen lawyers in its office in Modiin, Israel, including six 麻豆区 College graduates.
Mazal tov to Rachel Minkoff, Ph.D., LMSW, C-SWHC, '12S, '14W, '22W, who became the Director of Family Support at the ELIJA Foundation in June. The foundation supports people with autism and their families. She continues her role as an adjunct professor at Wurzweiler.
Mazal tov to Dr. Judy Friedman Rosen '73S, '75BR, who initiated and now serves as the treasurer of the Queens Holocaust Memorial Garden on the land of Queens Borough Halli, Kew Gardens, NY. The groundbreaking was last November.
Mazal tov to Jennifer '11S and Keith Sanders on the birth of a baby girl.
Mazal tov to Batya '94S and Nachman Paul '94YC, '97C on the birth of their granddaughter, Eliana Claire. Mazel tov to parents Debra and Tal Singer, and big brother Matan Lior.
Mazal tov to Irving Grabin '70YC, '70JSS and Dr. Lois Schwartzfarb Grabin '71S of Efrat on the marriage of their daughter Aliza Grabin '08W to Yaacov Bacon.
Mazal tov to Liel Silverstone '20S on the birth of her first baby boy, Ariel Lev, born after two years of marriage. Liel has been working at Teva Pharmaceuticals for a year and a half.
Mazal tov to Dr. Michael T. Cohen '93YC, former co-head coach of the Lady Macs basketball team and university sports information director, for being named Chief People Person by the NYC Basketball Hall of Fame after serving for six years as Interim CEO. Dr. Cohen has also joined the faculty of Euro NIL, educating athletes, coaches, and families on the new NCAA NIL (name, image and likeness) rules and how they affect their future plans.
Mazal tov to Morrie '76YC and Carrie Klians (Jerusalem) on the recent marriage of their grandson Hillel Simcha Kohn (Efrat) to Tessie Krebs (Petach Tikvah). Mazel tov also to parents Yehuda '05SB and Naomi Kohn (Efrat) and Rabbi Gadi and Tamar Krebs (Sydney, Australia).

Mazal tov to Shmuel '67YUHS, '71YC and Navah Aron on the birth of their fourth great-grandchild, born Motzai Rosh Hashanah.
Mazal tov to Joel Haber '93 YC on the publication of his book, Cholent: The Most Jewish Food on Earth, published by Green Bean Books in the U.K. and available soon in the U.S. and Israel. The book explores the history of Shabbat stews from around the world, using them as a way of tracing the routes of Jewish migrations through the Diaspora.
